Your phone takes better photographs than the professional camera we would have used fifteen years ago.

That is true, and it is not the argument.

The gap was never the sensor. It is lighting, sound, direction, and knowing which shot you actually need before you start. A phone in good hands beats a £4,000 camera in bad ones, every time.

Use your phone for….

behind the scenes, stories, quick updates, anything where roughness is the point. Polishing these makes them worse. Nobody wants a colour-graded shot of the office dog.

Bring someone in for….

the images on your homepage. The brand film that runs for three years. Anything a customer sees before they have decided to trust you. Anything where bad audio would kill it, and bad audio kills more videos than bad picture ever has.

The test is not importance. It is lifespan. Content that lives for a day should be cheap and fast. Content that has to work for two years is worth doing properly.

Most businesses get this exactly backwards. They spend nothing on the homepage and agonise over a story that vanishes in 24 hours.
