AI and Jobs

AI has not taken a single job off our team.

It has taken about six hours a week off each of them.

That distinction matters, because the headlines keep collapsing it. Here is what actually happened when we brought AI into the workflow.

It got good at…..

transcribing interviews, first-pass research, pulling themes out of six months of social data, drafting the version of a thing you then rewrite properly. Unglamorous work that used to eat afternoons.

It remained useless at….

knowing which of five ideas is the good one. Building a relationship with a journalist who has been ignoring you for eight months. Reading a room during a crisis. Having a point of view.

Here is the uncomfortable half nobody puts in the reassuring posts.

If your marketing output was already interchangeable, generic blog posts, filler social, press releases nobody was ever going to run, then yes, that work is in genuine trouble. Not because AI does it better. Because AI does it instantly, and it was never worth much to begin with.

The jobs at risk are not the skilled ones. They are the ones producing volume rather than value.

Which was always a fragile place to be.
